Dentpro of Sacramento was proud to host the 2024 advanced skills seminar. The advanced skills seminar is the accumulation of the greatest minds in the paintless dent repair industry all coming together to share industry knowledge and advance our skills.

Who put the seminar together?

The Advanced skills seminar is put on and hosted by several industry leaders. Keith Cosentino, Shane Jacks, and Brice Kelly are the main three minds behind putting the seminar together.

Learning day!

Keith Cosentino owns bullseye dent repair, owns a PDR tool company and runs an industry leading podcast called the PDR College, which is the driving force behind the advance skills seminar.

Bullseye Dent repair is a local competitor to Dentpro of Sacramento. We both realize that competing with each other only hurts our customers so we team up as much as possible to share industry knowledge to advance our businesses to serve our customers in the best way possible.

Shane Jacks owns and operates Dentpro Upstate out of South Carolina and also runs a company that helps hail catastrophe sites when hail hits. He and his team will travel to the site of the hail and coordinate repairing all of the vehicles that get damaged. Shane is also Keith’s on the PDR college podcast.

Brice Kelly is the industry leader in paintless dent repair. He continually pushes the envelope on what is possible with the art and skill of paintless dent repair. He owns and operates Central Florida Dent Repair and runs a very successful YouTube channel showing his customers and other technicians around the world what’s possible with PDR (paintless dent repair).

There were also several guest speakers including Marty Runich from Top Gun PDR Training school, Paul Kordon – inventor of the industry standard price-a-dent PDR pricing matrix, and myself – Cory Kleinfeldt – a multiple service shop owner, PDR career coach, and podcaster.

What is the Advanced Skills Seminar?

All of the smartest minds come together to hold a four day advanced skills seminar and transfer that knowledge to the attendees. There is no other event like this in our industry.  We hosted over 50 attendees at the advanced skills seminar this year and the event was a huge success! Check out the YouTube video showing how we created the damage and repaired it!

The seminar consisted of showing actual repairs, speeches on how to communicate with customers and run a business, and hands on training using the skills learning during the first two days of the seminar. This is not for beginners in the paintless dent repair industry. We are not repairing small door dings. we are repairing the most difficult dents that we can possible create so we can learn to bring our customers the best repairs possible!

The paintless dent repair industry is still in its infancy stages and it’s events like these that are going to get us out of that stage. Paintless dent repair is the superior option for repair when compared to a body shop! Its a better option when you compare a body shop vs. PDR in the time it takes for repair, the price of the repair, and the repair quality.

Five to 10 years ago the damage that we were able to repair was minimal, but between the tool companies advancing the industry tooling and better sharing of industry knowledge its just a matter of time until the PDR industry is more well known. Here’s an article I wrote about the difference between PDR and a body shop and how it can help you choose which repair you’d like to have for your vehicle.

In addition to all of the training, we had a couple industry tool companies come out and bring their tools to the show as well. Special shout out to Ultra dent tools and Keco tabs for bringing to tools to the show. Keco actually released some new tools at the seminar that were used in the repairs that we did. Talk about watching the industry change right before your eyes!!

There will be more events like this throughout the industry and we will continue to share knowledge, create betters tools, and find ways to serve out customers and their car repair needs as best as possible!
